Freshman President Endorsement: Taylor Stacey

By Devil’s Advocate Staff | Sept. 7, 2026

After interviewing each of the candidates for freshman class president, the Devil’s Advocate has chosen to endorse Taylor Stacey for the 2026-27 school year. Considering qualifications, platforms, and the ability to represent the Class of 2030, Stacey stood out as the strongest candidate. In regard to her leadership experience, feasible ideas and genuine desire to serve her class, Stacey set herself apart from her contenders.

Building on her leadership background, Stacey previously served as The Bolles School sixth-grade class president and National Junior Honor Society vice president at Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School. Through these experiences, Stacey has gained insight into communication, collaboration, and responsibility, all of which cultivated a strong foundation as she approached her candidacy for class president.

Similarly, Stacey’s practical approach to student involvement was viewed favorably and realistically. For instance, she suggested a freshman newsletter to use as a form of communication about clubs, football games, events and other opportunities. Stacey expressed her thoughts on freshmen issues, stating they often missed out on activities due to a lack of information. In addition, she made plans to regularly meet with class officers, use surveys to gather student thoughts, and organize donations through Goodwill drives.

Lastly, Stacey’s focus on communication reflected her goal of fostering involvement throughout the freshman class. Through Microsoft Teams and Instagram pages, she plans to make information accessible to as many students as possible, particularly by using polls to ensure students’ opinions are heard. Stacey aims to include quieter students and create opportunities for everyone to participate in school events and strengthen school spirit.

Ultimately, Stacey’s  goal is to make freshman year a memorable experience for the entire class by creating opportunities for students to feel involved, heard and connected. Because of these goals, the Devil’s Advocate has chosen to endorse Taylor Stacey for freshman class president.
